It's reasonable to accept that some things we do are a waste of time. It's not be so easy to accept that MOST of our activity will yield no return! This blog is focused on the 20 percent (or less) that matters.
Vilfredo Pareto noted 150+ years ago the pattern of uneven distribution of wealth. Despite the efforts of countless politicians and economists to more evenly distribute money across society, 80 percent of wealth tends to end up in 20 percent (or fewer) of pockets. This "80/20" algorithm is familiar, yet few people apply it broadly to improve effectiveness. If you could engage in 20 percent of your work or your play and get all of the benefits (whether the result is fun, money, health or satisfaction), I think you'd be pretty pumped! There's great power in knowing what you want, and in knowing how to achieve it.
I'm blogging my own way to clarity and focus--so come along for the ride if you like, and help me find the path.
